Spudgun

Warning! working with electricity and gas is dangerous.  I accept no responsibility for others actions using the information on this site.

Introduction

This spudgun is made for fireshows so it has a rather short barrel and it normally doesn’t shoot projectiles. I have been experimenting a lot with different ways to make a larger fireball.

Description

This spudgun is made inside a 110mm PP pipe. It is designed to be fired in rapid succession  therefore the gas tank is located inside the pipe. Valves can be ativated to allow gas to flow into the combustion chamber. A stungun provides the spark to ignite the gas. After firing a small blower vents the combustion chamber for the next firing.

Operation

A firing round begins by letting some gas into the combustion chamber for about 5 seconds.  The gas is shut off and another valve closes the gas inlet pipe. The Stungun can now be activated and the gas mixture ignited. After firing the valve for the blower is opened and the combustion chamber is vented. The blower valve is closed and the gas inlet pipe is opened. Now the process can start over.
